Check out this link of an album of songs which were written by Kah Loong, one of the attendees at the second Songcraft session. His album has 14 songs in total, 9 of which are available for listening on this link.

Kah Loong actually brought all his songs to a producer friend, who helped him produce these songs in a professional manner.
I was highly impressed by his body of work, and even more happy that he has uploaded all his songs on the Internet for easy listening.
My favourite song by far is “She’s Too Young”, which is the fourth song on this online album. I think it’s a really strong song.
After taking a listen to all of Kah Loong’s songs, I wrote to him with my heartfelt comments on what I thought about them. And here is what I wrote:
“Hi Kah Loong,
I’ve taken a listen to all your songs. It’s great that you have them all online! Very convenient.
I think the production work on all the songs is very good. Nice instrumentation (especially keyboard) and production effects. I think your voice is very earnest and sincere-sounding. And so are your songs.
To me, most of your songs are the melodious, soothing, sentimental type of songs…which I like! It’s also my type of songs! I wish I could write as sentimentally as you can.
I like the song ”She’s Too Young”. I think it’s a very strong song. I also think it has a very interesting intro (the “screechy-sound”). “She’s Too Young” is one of my favourite songs. “Please Believe” is interesting. Nice beat to it.
Just one comment, which is also the same thing which Ivan mentioned that Friday night - I think you might need to watch some of your emphasis on the English words. Some of the words, I feel the syllabus has the wrong emphasis, such that it makes it sound a little bit awkward.
Other than that…it’s great! Keep up your great work and your passion for songwriting!!!”
1) The tunes are quite catchy. Concise. Not draggy. The arrangement is very polished so that helps but the songs is inherently nice.
2) Your voice sounds good :) The vocal harmony adds depth to the songs. Nice.
3) I mentioned this at the last meet-up — seems to me you write your songs in Mandarin, and then transpose to English lyrics. Nothing wrong with it, except that the cadence sounds a bit odd. I suspect it’s because you try to sing each note with a word. For English songs, I think there needs to be a flow where the music accompanies the lyrics. The tracks I’ve listened to seem to be the lyrics accompanying the musical melody… hope I’m making sense.
